Foreign Editorial Cartoons -- So Very, Very Sad.

In the mornings, as I wait for my brain to wake up after its half hour marination in bus fumes, I sip my cup of Demon Joe and ask the world "Okay, how much fuzzier and more gloopy did the spoiled peach we call a world become overnight?" Part of this mundane ritual involves checking out the editorial cartoons collected on Slate-dot-com. After Chuck Asay, easily the most annoying part of this is dealing with foreign cartoonists.
I don't expect my sense of humour to jibe with that of foreigners. But why or why can't foreign cartoonists even DRAW? I mean, compared with these guys, Ted Rall is frickin' Rembrandt.
